Despite a strong cast, expensive production and the historical setting, at the core of this All About Eve type drama are trivial matters, revolting human behavior and not nearly as much wit or fun as the coming attractions suggested.
Fish-eye photography may be arty, but more disorienting than interesting. A real waste.
