Review of The Fault in Our Stars (2014) by Lara W — 11 Apr 2015
The romantic in me was revealed. Thanks to Josh Boone and the incredible scribe duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (same writers of 500 Days of Summer) for translating John Green's best-selling novel into a heartwarming/ heartbreaking flick. Shailene Woodley first caught my eye when she acted opposite George Clooney in "The Descendants". Yet again, she pulled off an effortless performance. At times, it gets a little tacky yet bearable. Some lines will truly pinch your heart. Ansel Elgort is the new face to root for. Trite as it appears to be, this film will make us live life to its full extent.
4/5 folks.
