Review of The Fault in Our Stars (2014) by Catherine N — 02 Oct 2015
After reading this book, I was scared the movie, like most book to movie adaptations, didn't reflect the book. I was thankfully proved wrong. I was mostly scared that the two actors couldn't pull off Hazel and Gus and again I was proven wrong.
Shailene and Ansel were PERFECT for their characters and although there were some dialouge and other differences from the book, the overall tone (and the way it made me cry) felt the same. Ansel was an even better Gus than I imagined.
His humor, wit and the delivery of the romantic lines was perfect. This made me laugh and cry (a lot) and moved me. Will probably see it in theaters again, and definitely will buy it on Blu-ray!
