Review of The Fault in Our Stars (2014) by Ben N — 21 Feb 2015
I seriously got a concussion from how this film clubs you over the head with pedantic imagery-I do not know if this comes from the director or the source material but there is a certain scene in the Anne Frank house that physically hurt me to watch.
Shailene Woodley is wonderful in this movie, as is most of the supporting cast, but that's about it. Ansel Elgort comes across as uncomfortable and hard to take seriously, he never really connects with the audience and everything that happens in the third act is made less because of it.
