Review of The Fate of the Furious (2017) by Omar L — 17 Sep 2017
The appeal of the FF franchise was the stuntwork with the cars, and while there are some fun moments here, the best one was all CGI, namely the car zombie scene in Manhattan. The charisma of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham might be the reason this movie is even half-watchable, with Vin Diesel turning in a bland performance.
That's saying something, considering that Dom is the individual most associated with the Fast and Furious franchise (even including Paul Walker). His on-set beef with Johnson, combined with Diesel's terrible performance, not only could make even the most ardent FF fan not care about Dom, but consequently not care about his "family" either.
