It's extremely cheesy and over the top. I don't have any issue particularly with that, but with the imbalance of the themes. Trying to balance fun and joy against the hard and abrupt seriousness it tries to shove down your throat.
It gets lost in what the franchise is based upon. CHEESY OVER THE TOP ACTION MOVIES. Trying to be smart and over barring with serious themes. Extremely lazy story writing this time around as well. Forcing random events into the plot line instead of using know things into play.
Overall it wasn't that great besides some pretty nice CGI effects at times, some nice visuals. If you're okay with bad characters, bad writing, and slow pacing go ahead and see this.
