Review of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) by Rotten T — 18 Jun 2011
The first Fast and the Furious film exposed to the world the entire underground street racing subculture. That is what the Fast and the Furious series is all about. It's a modern exploitation film.
"Tokyo Drift" remembers what it is as a movie. The film explores into the world of drifting, a style of driving I've never heard of until this movie. The movie itself is entertaining enough.
Lacking the lead actor Paul Walker, the film makes up in a unique setting, modern Tokyo, a setting I rarely see in movies (Exception: Lost In Translation?). Sure the plot is a bit mediocre. But it's watchable, and for me, good enough to watch again.
