Review of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) by Julie N — 04 May 2012
Now I've met the director of this movie. Back in 2003 he came to Ohio State University doing a meet and greet for his debut film "Better Luck Tomorrow" he was a great guy. Plus his movie was wonderful and he seemed to have great potential as a director. Now how he went from B.L.T. To this lame brained sequel I might never know.
Its a big dumb clunky movie filled with very cliche they could pack into its 100 minute run time. I will say Lin does add some nice directorial flourishes here and there.
Now don't get me wrong the first F & F was no more or less vapid than this one. I remember thinking it was just a car show in motion. Now 2F & 2F I did enjoy despite myself. I found it to be entertaining none sense and I didn't miss Diesel at all.
I guess this entry will always be the red headed step child in the series.
