Review of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) by Ian G — 17 Oct 2013
One of the sole reasons to go back and rewatch/watch this entry in the FATF series is the revisionist history done by the sixth entry making Jason Statham the killer of the supporting character Han halfway through the film in the pileup to introduce him into the series and tie it as much watch since it feature no real connection to the other entries outside of that character.
In a weird way acts as sort of the Karate Kid 2 entry of the franchise with the misfit kid being sent off to Japan and looking for a way to fit in and falling on the wrong side of the Yakuza clan by way of one of their sons.
Not bad real world stunts by the veichles as one would expect from the franchise and interesting use of Sonny Chiba as the Yakuza Boss, since I havent seem him in any north america release this side of Quentin Tarintino.
Average and retroactively topped by the later installments but fun.
