Review of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) by Dan D — 20 Oct 2011
And here we are, the ever talked about failure that was the 3rd entry in the F&F series because it ditched all of the original cast members.... except I'll take this one any day over the first two. Why?
Because if you are going to make a movie about "street racing"? It makes far more sense to have a younger cast, plus this film realises what it is and doesn't attempt to be anything more. Compared to the "original cast" reunion that followed? This is a Godsend.
This is also far more fun and much better shot than the previous entries. This was also the first film to be directed by the ever talented Justin Lin who also directed all other installments after this one except Furious 7.
OUT with the hilariously bad looking CGI and green screen, and IN with some cool legitimately shot car races.
