Review of The Fast and the Furious (2001) by David B — 13 Apr 2012
The plot isn't as daft as it sounds about a cop going undercover to a bunch of street gangs but no need to worry about all that. It doesn't matter that we know where it's going, what counts is that Cohen keeps his pedal to the floor and that his actors gun their lines with absolute conviction.
Loud cars, fast music: this movie knows exactly what it's about. The top-notch cast are having a great time but sometimes it's the cars and the chases that steal the show. Great races and good stunt work make this film entertaining but it does sometimes get a bit repetative, that's not a bad thing though.
Excellent night in film.
