Review of The Fast and the Furious (2001) by Danny H — 11 Apr 2013
When the original "Fast and the Furious" was released back in 2001, nobody ever would have thought that the street-racing action would spawn five (with a sixth film in production) sequels and remain the sole franchise Universal Pictures has to bank on. The movie is a stupidly fun film with fun action scenes and a plot that, though falling short of it's potential, doesn't slow the fast-paced movie down.
As far as the franchise goes avoid the sequels and stick with the original, which the next three movies tried to thinly remake (the exception being "Fast Five," which succeeded by re-inventing the franchise as an action-heist movie).
