Review of The Family Stone (2005) by Tara S — 20 Jul 2009
With the absence of films from the likes of Chris Columbus and john Hughes these days, it's not often you find a film packed with believable affection, and love. the family stone is an exception and has it in bucket loads.
the cast all work well together. the story contains more twists and turns than you would usually expect and because of this it breaks out the "chick flick zone" .its made in way to provoke a warm feeling inside you.
the only fault I can find is the underdevelopment of Sarah jessica parkers character. a lot of her actions are not given explanation. and it often just feels like she is saying "sorry" and running through doors all the time.
this aside, the family stone is a festive treat that will warm you and possibly bring a little tear to the eye. lovely.
