Despite the fact that the movie really isn't that funny, it started to tug at my heartstrings but it's too schmaltzy and inconsistent to truly evoke the emotions it's looking for. While at first I did not enjoy the ending; now upon more thought I respect the open endedness and the way it steers away from a picture perfect resolution.
