Review of The Family Jewels (1965) by " Just S — 01 Sep 2007
Half good Jerry, half telethon Jerry, this film is where the man crosses the line, 1st into obscurity, and then into legendary, but also useful, obscurity. I always like to remind people, Jerry was the star of a good De Niro/ Scorsese film, and a favorite comedian of Fassbinder and Godard.
End the stigma. If he is bad, at least he's not easily dismissable.
