Review of The Family (2013) by Sören O — 15 Dec 2013
Much more fun than I thought it would be and you can almost always count on Luc Besson to put together an entertaining movie! I really enjoyed the way this mob family tried to assimilate into normal life and with their mob tendencies, get to do what most of us can't; take no shit! Robert De Niro can of course play this role in his sleep but I was really more impressed with Michelle Pfeifer and the two kids who were just awesome! There's also a great wink to De Niro's past film roles that is quite funny and you really have to look at this film as a dark mobster comedy.
There is a ridiculous mother-of-all conveniences that leads to them being found, which irked me big time though.
