Review of The Family (2013) by Robby R — 03 May 2014
I do NOT get why people have so many problems with this film. I give it three stars, because it works and it is fun. If you have teenage kids, here is a movie you can all enjoy together. It maintains a balance between fun and serious and you feel good when it is over.
Sure, it may not win any Oscars, but I don't think that is what they were trying to do. They did not CARE if it was a classic dark comedy or whatever genre. The story has some weak points, but nothing they ever dwell on.
It is a solid three star movie. Sit back and enjoy.
