Review of The Fallen Idol (1948) by Jeff B — 08 Jan 2009
Excellent film directed by Carol Reed about a little boy who idolizes his butler yet doesn't know how to handle the situation when he sees an affair and a possible murder take place. Very good performance from the young boy and Ralph Richardson is perfect as the butler.
Like The Third Man, this film does an excellent job of lighting and shadows, the scenes in the house at night are great, the way everything seems to lurk around.
