Review of The Fall (2006) by Goggo K — 26 Mar 2010
This is very much a magical movie. It is the story of Roy, a stunt actor with a broken body and a broken heart that befriends little Alexandra, a 5 year old girl patient of the same hospital. Roy decides to end his life, so he makes up a story with princesses, bandits and slaves to convince Alexandra to smuggle him some pills. Fiction and real life get slowly entangled to breaking point.
Only that plot would make a good movie, but the amazingly beautiful images makes this movie stand out from the rest. The scenery, the landscapes, the costumes, the architecture and the colours are stunning. The photography of this film is astonishing and eyewatering, one of the best that I have ever seen. I just regret not to have enjoyed it at the.
Cinema.
Another of the best features of this movie is the acting, little Catinca Untaro in particular, she was fantastic.
This is defenitely a treat for the eyes not to be missed.
