Review of The Fall (2006) by Joshua P — 27 Apr 2010
I have to confess that I was attracted to this film because it was "presented by spike jonze" (whatever that means).
However, this film first of all a visually stunning masterpiece, almost more a piece of art than a classic movie. filmed in twenty countries the settings seem like from a different world and make every single scene interesting to watch.
Then there is (are) the plot(s) of the story. whereas the mystical/fantastic part begins very straightforward told from lee pace's point of view, but then takes a twist, the real-world story takes a while to fully comprehend. the reasons of how and why pace ends up in hospital in his state of mind slowly unwind throughout the story as he befriends a little girl who comes to sit on his bed again and again to listen to his epic story. the way(s) in which these two plots are interwoven make the film just the more interesting.
