Review of The Fall (2006) by Craig S — 21 Mar 2012
Tarsem Singh has taken the colorful imagery from his horror film The Cell and brought it into a heartfelt fairytale with a very human story behind it, this is a visually stunning film that reminds me of Secondhand Lions with its storyteller setting.
Alexandria (Catinca Untaru) steals the spotlight as a patient recovering from a broken arm in the hospital, she meets jaded stuntman Roy (Lee Pace) when a note she'd written accidentally blows on his bed through the window. The two strike up a friendship as Roy tells Alexandria fantastic stories about heroes and villains. But Roy's bitterness over his past mistakes and the wrongs done to him begin to take shape in the characters of his story to Alexandria who's become infatuated with her new friend.
