Review of The Fall (2006) by Cole W — 06 Jan 2013
One of the best meldings of art fim and popular film I have seen, The Fall deftly switches between symbolic complexity and deeply engrossing narrative, while expertly melding comedy, hyperrealism and emotion with a stunning visual package.
The film wades post modern deep into serious sometimes mordant waters but in the end leaves the viewer tucked in safely and happily ready to leave the theatre to eagerly talk about their experience...
And it is just that. The Fall was engrossing as a narrative, charming and uplifiting in its upshot, and erudite in its totality. I haven't enjoyed myself in a theatre that much in a very long time.
