The one example of Rodriguez directing something that he pretty much make himself, the script is very cliche and doesn't do anything surprising or unexpected. Yet Rodriguez directs it with style and its never boring.
The acting is decent for the most part, despite some bad dialogue. Still, good brainless fun.
