As far as aliens-taking-over-the-planet-by-posting-as-humans-only-to-be-foiled-by-the-local-group-of-outcasts-movies go, this one hits the spot! Great cast and great directing by Robert Rodriguez. This would be his last decent movie before his turn to Disney-like kids movies (what!?).
Fortunately, he has since redeemed himself with the excellent "Sin City" and "Planet Terror". A must see for any fans of alien-invasion-films.
