Review of The Faculty (1998) by Max K — 11 Mar 2010
It's "The Thing Goes To High School," and no, we don't get a cameo from Keith David. "The Faculty" is not the most original offering from the always entertaining Robert Rodriguez, and that's mostly because he didn't write it, but he does manage to squeeze in a few or so thrills, proving he's got the chops to make a good horror film (but of course he already proved that in "From Dusk 'Til Dawn).
Biggest disappointment is the lack of Piper Laurie, who possesses more terrifying presence than any other actress. Also the decision to cast Usher in a mere cameo role proved just how 90s this film is, but I gotta say, a little Daniel von Bargen certainly goes a long way.
