Review of The Faculty (1998) by Lee B — 02 Apr 2010
About the only thing redeeming about "The Faculty" is that it isn't a "Transformers" movie. With clumsy dialog and a hideous plot that is horrendously inspired by John Carpenter's "The Thing" ripping it off in more ways than one, this film is one of those that tries to be scary utilizing incredibly bad 'startle music' and a tensionless atmosphere full of angst ridden teens.
My sister appears as an extra over and over again in multiple scenes emphasizing how truly bad the editing of the film is. Let's not forget it's got a huge cast including Usher and Famke Janssen who would never in her right mind have a hard on for Josh Hartnett.
The special effects are just deplorably laughable- even bad for 1998. Finally the big boss showdown looks like a pink tentacled turd with teeth. It's a crap bath people, and frankly you should expect more for your time.
