Review of The Faculty (1998) by Chris M — 09 Oct 2012
This post-modern Scream knock-off is surprisingly solid with a great young cast and a healthy dose of veteran actors. What could have been a dull disaster is made all the more fun by Kevin Wiliamson's writing. In essence, this is a remake of all the "pod people" movies such as Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but with a whole lot more violence and humor. This is one of those films that just barely got by before the Columbine tragedy in '99. It's strange to say as this movie is only a decade old, but I can't see this movie getting made today, at least with all the same bite. Let's not forget Robert Rodriguez was the director, so I'm sure that has something to do with the quality of the film.
A must see for horror/sci-fi fans.
