Review of The Face of Love (2013) by Carol R — 10 May 2014
Vertigo gets the Lifetime original movie treatment with The Face of Love. Where that story had a ridiculous premise that plumbed the darkness of the mind, The Face of Love is just content to strain credulity like a Stretch Armstrong.
Annette Bening is a wido who begins an affair with a man (Ed Harris) who looks exactly like her late husband. The film could have been a meditation on grief and loss but instead we're spoon fed a compendium of lame coincidences.
Awful.
