Review of The Face of Jizo (2004) by Private U — 26 Jun 2007
When it comes to the atomic bomb, try as I might, I always end up crying. Amazing film about a hibakusha who feels that she shouldn't have survived Hiroshima and her father, who appears as a ghost to encourage her to try to be happy.
Deals with the SCAP's refusal to allow the Japanese to conduct research on the effects of the bomb and the effects of the bomb on not only people's physical bodies but on their minds and their surroundings.
I wish it would come out in region 1.
