Review of The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) by Grayson D — 15 Jul 2012
I wanted to see this when it came out but I couldn't go to the cinema for it, lest it corrupt my young mind. I had a thing for Michelle (can anyone spell the surname without google) Pfeiffer at the time but over the years I kept forgetting to watch it, so I just got round to it.
Gladly, it's a good film, though it could have been a great one, but an assured directorial debut from Steve (he wrote all the Harry Potter screenplay's) Kloves. Jeff Bridges, acting his chops off, as he tends to do and generally looking cool throughout and older brother Beau (looking like a cross between a portly Matthew Broderick and the writer Paul ((Father of Louis)) Theroux) make a great partnership and the aforementioned Pfeiffer, smoulders like the sleazy sax score and looks hotter than Satan's ass on cheap curry night.
