Review of The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) by Matt M — 15 Feb 2013
A piano playing duo introduces a female singer to the band. This drama is quite sophisticated and a little too precious to appreciate fully. The script can also be dull sometimes and the drama a little outdated, but the performances of the cast, especially Pfeiffer who is wonderful, and the lush photography which almost blatantly glorifies the glamorous side of the after dinner party and fancy night club atmosphere make this a nicely stylised film lacking an exciting story.
