Committed performances by Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield. The strong performances make up for a script and direction that is just OK. Costumes and Production Design were unexpectedly wonderful too.
The makeup and hairstyling is top notch, and even under all the prosthetics and makeup, Chastain gives it her all and delivers a memorable and awards worthy performance. Despite its flaws, The Eyes of Tammy Faye is actually a very entertaining and satisfying movie to watch.
