Review of The Extra Man (2010) by Lisa W — 13 Feb 2011

I really enjoyed this movie - I have been looking for something like this to watch for sometime and I was happy The Extra Man came along. It was witty, clever, had very interesting characters, a strange but logical plot and it's just a quirky little gem filled with wonderful performances. Paul Dano was tremendous - he's just a joy to watch, and Kevin Kline was quite amazing as well. Loved John C. Reilly for a change. Would have loved it if Katie Holmes wasn't in it.

I really laughed in this film. Not a hysterical laugh, but the actual laugh prompted by intellectual and sincerely funny things in the movie. I just fell in love with it - very unique and realistic - and the 1920's style was absolutely mesmerizing.
