Review of The Experiment (2010) by Juliette P — 01 Dec 2013
A remake of its German predecessor but unlike films such as Girl with the dragon tatoo which was awfully remade in english but brilliant in its european form, this film delivers stellar acting from both Brody and Whittaker in an experiment in basic human nature when faced with a situation that would test even the nicest and most clean cut of men and that is what this movie does.
Brutal at times and even leading to an inmates death, this prison experiment is in the genre of thriller however the psychological elements are pretty basic revealing that all humans have a Gestapo/Dictator capability if they are put in a position of power, its if they choose to use it that affects those less fortunate than them.
I really enjoyed the film, however the German version was much more gritty and engrossing.
