Sometimes in life you don't always need a decent plot, a narrative or even a believable scenario and this is a prime example of it.
What the movie provides is pure unadulterated adrenaline fueled entertainment so none of that other stuff matters, if your looking for nostalgic memories with a huge cast of unforgettable people and stuff getting blown up this movie is defiantly for you.
