Review of The Expendables 3 (2014) by Ryan B — 16 Jan 2015
I didn't think it was possible but they did it again. They managed to make an Expendables movie PG-13 and it worked, at least for me that is. Don't go into this movie thinking there's good character depth and a great story, you'll be disappointed.
What does work for this film very well is mindless action which I couldn't get enough of. The acting is just like any other Expendables movie: fair. Mel Gibson plays the villain and I have to say, he did a good job at it, he kind of made me hate him just a little bit.
The combat scenes are as usual great, they could've added a little blood to it even though it's only PG-13 which according to Stallone it was very close to being R. The Expendables are trying to catch a guy (Gibson) they thought they'd killed already, that's literally all the plot is.
Like I said, it's a mindless action film which I loved but that's just me. In the end I'd definitely watch it again huh hell maybe a couple more times. Highly recommended.
