Review of The Expendables (2000) by Bryan Y — 16 Aug 2012
People loved this movie, but I still swear they love the IDEA of it more than what actually came to fruition. Terrible, terrible writing/plot/dialogue. Total misuse of Jet Li, coupled with a completely unfunny and confusing running gag. (Feed my family, feed my family, I dont have a family). Luckily Dolph Lundgren's character kind of saved the entertainment value for me. I still swear I could have written a better plot line than this though.
Why they didn't give this to Robert Rodriguez or someone other than Stallone writing/directing is beyond me. The Raid: Redemption makes this movie look like a pile of crap.
