Review of The Expendables (2000) by Joe C — 11 Sep 2012

I saw this in theaters, and I was expecting so much more. I love all the old action movies from 80's and 90's, but this ramped me up and shot me down. The cast is great and fits very well, BUT it was very poorly written.

The idea of a mercenary group that is unstoppable fits but the whole thing with the country needs revolution and we are a 5 man team and blah blah blah just doesn't hold water. Dont get me wrong, see it and you will probably enjoy it, but you will see that it should definitely hit way harder than it does.

On a side note, I have seen the 2nd one, and way better, just saying...
