Review of The Expendables (2000) by Jamel R — 01 Jun 2014
In the Summer of 2010, 3 separate movie studios released 3 separate movies with pretty much the same premise. A group of mercenaries take on a small army out to kill them and despite all odds and all logic, come out on top.
This is the runner-up in my opinion. This is what happens when Hollywood tries to pump as much testosterone into one movie as possible. The Expendables is a fun throwback to the over-the-top action movies of yesteryear and for me, it works really well, despite it's obvious flaws.
The big, dumb action flick you're looking for when you need a big, dumb action flick.
