Review of The Expendables 2 (2012) by Jacob M — 24 Jul 2014
Story.
The Expendables are back and this time it's personal... Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) -- with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard -- are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them.
The Cast.
Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross - Once again a badass but this time more for revenge cause of something happens.
Jason Statham as Lee Christmas - again like the first still a Badass.
Jet Li as Yin Yang.
Dolph Lundgren as Gunner Jensen.
Terry Crews as Hale Caesar.
Randy Couture as Toll Road.
The rest of the original Expendables are great still.
Liam Hemsworth as Billy the Kid - at first I didn't think I would like him, but he grew on me so it was sad that he has a short role in this movie.
Bruce Willis as Church - it was nice to see Bruce Willis do something badass again since Die Hard is dead.
Arnold Schwarzenegger as Trench Mauser - Great to see Arnold in a big role in a movie again.
Chuck Norris as Booker - MY GOD was this a great addition to the cast no one better!
The Villain.
Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Vilain - seeing Jean as Villain was great since I never seen him be a Villain ever and once you see what he does in this movie you want this ass hole to die.
I have to say the thing that made this movie alot better than the first movie was the comedy it was great they made fun of their own movies lol.
Overall: a way better movie than the first, in Action, Emotion, and Comedy.
Overall Grade: B+.
