This movie is a love letter to hardcore action movies of years past. And it does it well. In fact, it's much better than the first film (which I also loved). I think this one is just shot better. You see the action more and see what these guys are capable of doing. Which is kill lots of bad guys in awesome fashion.
Plus, I mean JCVD, Arnold, Sly, and God himself Chuck Norris.... This movie was getting a "10" no matter what. It just so happens that it totally earns it. It was an absolute blast and if you like action movies I can't see how you don't have fun watching this one.
