Review of The Expendables 2 (2012) by Faisal A — 14 Jul 2013
Vastly superior to the first one, and the acting is not as annoying as before. The dialogue is still horrendous, but still manages to throw in a few good one-liners, in-jokes and "wink, wink" moments (there is a great, corny Chuck Norris line that involves snakes).
The action is awesome, but most of the time, it just feels like these guys are too invincible and are immortal compared to their enemies. The plot is simple, but somewhat ridiculous (somehow it manages to squeeze in moments of thoughtfulness).
There was no point for Liam Hemsworth's character to exist at all really. Overall, this is a bad film, but a well made one, and I happened to like it at the time, but I will not go out of my way to watch it when it plays on television.
