What is most loathsome about this movie is how much it hates the movies it is imitating. Stallone seems to be under the impression that stupid action movies from the 80's were ineptly made, which is not true (just the crap he was in) But a lot of the action movies that created genre he is emulating are great, complex, thoughtful entertainment, so it is upsetting to see him not take it seriously.
