Review of The Expendables 2 (2012) by Johnathon W — 15 Jul 2014
Fun sequel that improves on the original but still maintains some cliches that hold it back from being truly great. The plot is nonsense but the humor is much improved, particularly the interplay between the team and some nice nods to their past movies (Chuck Norris's appearance is classic).
The biggest improvement is in the villain, with Van Damme oozing evil while still able to deliver a mean split-kick. His henchman, Scott Atkins, does quite well for himself as well. All that along with some outstanding action-pieces and you have a solid action film filled with classic stars.
