Review of The Expendables (1988) by Jay L — 09 Nov 2012
"CHOSE YOUR WEAPON...".
Sylvester Stallone directs this hard-boiled, hardcore, action-packed thrill ride. A hard-hitting in your face kick of bullets, blood, and humor. A cast for the ages was assembled for this action machine, and it even has cameo appearances by two of the biggest action heroes on the planet today. A great movie that is one hell of a good time from start to finish, it's packed with enough action for 10 movies. An serious action machine that kicks all kinds of ass and then some. With an excellent soundtrack and enough humor and one-liners to keep anyone engaged. A serious piece of work that will drop your jaw, the amount of intense action is mind-blowing.
The cast includes some of the most classic action film heroes in cinema. It includes performances by Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Steve Austin, and a classic scene with cameos from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwartzenegger. A spectacular cast for a great action film, very well done by Stallone and company.
