Review of The Exorcist (1973) by Eytan D — 26 Jan 2013
"The Exorcist" is a classic horror film, plain and simple. We relate to the characters, the imagery is terrifying, and the performances, especially Linda Blair as Regan, are truly unforgettable.
Audiences in 1973 were having heart attacks. Nowadays, the effect is probably different. Pre-teens who find "The Exorcist" will probably laugh the first time they see it. But those laughs are put to rest once the possessed Regan starts cursing a blue streak, puking all over a priest, levetating off of a bed, and spinning her head 360 degrees.
For me, the film still shocks and the impact stays in your mind forever.
