The Evil Dead is slow, tense, and gory. Its not all as scary as its meant to be, more funny than anything, sometimes on purpose even, but most of the time I was hanging off the edge of my seat. It's that kind of movie, and it's good at it.
With great yet cheesy makeup, excessive gore, and great cinematography, Evil Dead is just plain great.
