Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Faisal F — 19 Jul 2013
The Evil Dead is one of the best horror films ever. It modeled and crafted the horror genre into what it is today. A ton of horror movies now have modeled after this movie nd I can easily see why. It's a classic and will forever be one, no denying it.
It has just the right amount of gore and violence to even everything out perfectly. Bruce Campbell is a fucking legend, and he's great in this. Everybody else is good, as well. Sam Raimi is a freaking genius, and it really shows here.
This movie is a cult classic and a masterpiece in old school horror and it will live on as a legacy of horror. It's even actually really funny and has the perfect amount of laughs to carry it through.
Linda was very good, and very creepy. The "Were gonna get you" scene always freaks me the hell out. All of those cliche movies about teenagers going into woods and getting killed off one-by-one were clearly taken from this.
The Evil Dead has forever left it's mark on the horror genre and will continue to live on as a cult classic favorite among horror and film lovers. A true masterpiece that horror lovers will forever adore.
