Although sometimes overshadowed by the more energetic "Evil Dead 2," the original is totally solid. It has its share of memorable sequences from the "Evil Dead" trilogy and is probably the moodiest, creepiest of the three.
It still can be funny in Raimi's trademark style but that's not all it brings to the table.
