Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Sanjay T — 23 May 2015
Original for its time, The Evil Dead, is a violent b-movie horror about demonic possession that ticks all the right boxes. Sam Raimi's feature film debut is an excellently written & produced film, with a decent script, some cheesy cast performances and an overall creepy & brilliant atmosphere.
With this great formula & with slasher flicks being the mainstream horror releases, there's no surprise that this became a cult hit.
